Former President and National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has appealed to President Akufo-Addo and his administration to promptly pay the outstanding arrears owed to trainees under the Nation Builders Corps (NABCo).

Addressing supporters after organizing a health walk in Accra on Saturday, July 20, 2024, Mahama emphasized the urgency of settling the financial dues owed to NABCo trainees. He criticized the current government’s job creation policies, citing the NABCo initiative as an example that has not met expectations.

Mahama highlighted his proposed 24-hour economy policy as pivotal to revitalizing Ghana’s economic landscape, contrasting it with what he described as the inadequacies of the incumbent administration’s strategies.

“The current economic conditions are unsatisfactory and demand transformative policies like my 24-hour economy initiative to achieve substantial improvements,” Mahama asserted.

He further outlined plans for a Women’s Bank under his administration, aimed at providing soft loans to women entrepreneurs. Mahama stressed the importance of such a financial institution in supporting small and medium-sized businesses run by women, who often face challenges accessing credit from commercial banks.
