Nottingham Forest have secured the signing of Serbian defender Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina.
The 26-year-old center-back joins the Reds on a five-year deal, reportedly costing £12 million after passing his medical on Wednesday.
Milenkovic fills a defensive void left by the recent £27 million sale of Moussa Niakhate to Lyon.
“He’s a crucial part of our summer transfer plans,” said Forest’s Chief Football Officer Ross Wilson. “We know how eager he is to be here.”
Wilson continued, “We’ve been impressed by his performances for Serbia and Fiorentina, both in Serie A and European competitions. We’re thrilled to have his experience and talent bolster our squad.”
Milenkovic boasts 56 caps for Serbia, featuring in all their Euro 2024 Group C matches, including the narrow defeat to England (1-0).
The defender began his career at Partizan Belgrade before making the move to Fiorentina in 2017 at the age of 19.
During his seven-year stint in Italy, Milenkovic racked up 264 appearances, contributing 17 goals and 5 assists.
