Mason Greenwood, the Manchester United forward, is on the verge of a permanent transfer to Marseille after undergoing a medical.
Greenwood, 22, has agreed to personal terms with the French club, with a reported transfer fee exceeding €30 million (£25.2 million) including add-ons.
The contract is expected to run until 2029. Manchester United have also secured a significant sell-on clause in the deal.
This move comes despite criticism faced by Marseille from the city’s mayor when their interest in Greenwood became public.

Greenwood hasn’t played for Manchester United since January 2022 due to serious charges against him, which were later dropped in February 2023. Manchester United confirmed their stance of selling the player, with whom they had a brief meeting last week.
The transfer of Greenwood to Marseille helps fill the void left by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who announced his departure from the French club on social media. The 35-year-old striker is set to join Al-Qadisiyah in the Saudi Pro League.
