Fear Grips Gomoa Assin Residents as Land Guards Lock Palace, Assault Residents

Residents of the Gomoa Assin Traditional Council are living in fear after land guards locked the palace, assaulted residents, and prevented the Queen Mother from performing rituals. The land guards have taken control of the palace, blocking access to anyone trying to enter, and have created a hostile environment that has left the community in a state of anxiety and unrest.

According to residents, 95 percent of the community is living in fear due to the aggressive actions of the land guards. “We are living in fear, we can’t even go about our daily activities,” said one resident.

Paramount Queen Mother of the Gomoa Assin Traditional Area, Obaatanpa Ama Eduwa, has called on the Inspector General of Police to intervene and bring an end to the violence and intimidation by the land guards. “The situation is dire, and the land guards are endangering lives in the community,” she emphasized.

The Queen Mother’s call for help comes after the land guards’ recent actions, which have prevented her from performing her ritual duties. The community is urging the authorities to take immediate action to restore peace and order in the area.
