“Akufo-Addo Gov’t Sets Road Construction Record, Outperforming Mahama Admin by Threefold – Asenso-Boakye”

The Minister for Roads and Highways, Francis Asenso-Boakye, has made a significant assertion about the Akufo-Addo government’s road construction achievements. According to him, the current government has constructed more roads than any previous administration in Ghana’s history.

Asenso-Boakye, who is also the Member of Parliament for Bantama, stated that President Akufo-Addo has significantly expanded the country’s road network. He made this statement during a news conference on Thursday, July 18.

The minister claimed that the Akufo-Addo administration has constructed three times more roads than the previous Mahama administration. He provided data to support his claim, stating that while the Mahama administration constructed a total of 4,636 kilometers of roads, the Akufo-Addo administration has built 12,800 kilometers.

Asenso-Boakye emphasized that these achievements reflect the substantial investments made by the current government in improving the country’s infrastructure. He believes the Akufo-Addo government deserves commendation for its significant contributions to Ghana’s road network.

The minister’s claims are supported by President Akufo-Addo’s recent announcement that his government has constructed more roads than the combined efforts of the Mills/Mahama administrations. This declaration was made during the sod-cutting ceremony for the dualisation of the Anwiankwanta-Ahenema Kokoben Road on July 15.

Addressing a gathering of local officials, residents, and stakeholders, President Akufo-Addo detailed what he described as extensive improvements to the nation’s road network since 2017. He cited a total of 12,830 kilometers of roads completed under his leadership.

The President underscored the significant progress made in expanding and enhancing Ghana’s infrastructure. He described the development as unparalleled in the history of Ghana, reflecting a level of commitment and efficiency in addressing the country’s infrastructure needs that have not been seen before.

Asenso-Boakye’s claims and the President’s announcement have sparked attention and debate about the government’s road construction achievements. While some have praised the government’s efforts, others have raised questions about the accuracy of the data and the quality of the roads constructed.

Despite the debate, it is clear that the Akufo-Addo government has made significant investments in road construction. The government’s commitment to improving Ghana’s infrastructure is evident, and the results are visible across the country.
