Hamas Disputes Human Rights Watch Report, Alleging Bias and Inaccuracy

Story Highlights
  • Hamas has dismissed a recent HRW report
  • Hamas rejected the report as "lies"
  • HRW documented dozens of serious human rights violations

Hamas has dismissed a recent Human Rights Watch (HRW) report that accused the group’s armed wing and four other factions of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity during the October 7 attack on Israelis.

HRW documented dozens of serious human rights violations, including murder, hostage-taking, and other grave offenses.

However, Hamas rejected the report as “lies” and “blatant bias” in favor of Israel, demanding that HRW withdraw the report and issue an apology.

Hamas claimed that the report abandoned scientific research and impartial legal standards, instead resembling an “Israeli propaganda document.” HRW stood by its findings, emphasizing the need for accountability for serious human rights abuses.
