Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy has achieved a groundbreaking milestone, becoming the first African artist to surpass two billion streams in the United Kingdom. This accomplishment was celebrated at his sold-out show at Koko Camden in London, where he was presented with a Brit plaque commemorating this impressive feat.
This milestone closely follows his previous achievement of reaching one billion streams, which was also recognized with a Brit plaque at another sold-out event at London Stadium just weeks ago.
During the ceremony, Burna Boy emphasized the importance of perseverance and standing up for one’s rights, saying, “Thank you very much. I appreciate you. You know, you have to fight for your rights.” When a presenter suggested that he had already achieved the milestone and didn’t need to fight anymore, Burna Boy firmly responded, “No. You know, we have to fight for our rights.”
