‘Stranger Things’ Fans Go Wild as Season 5 Teaser is Released

The makers of Stranger Things have posted an update from the set of its fifth season, sending fans into a frenzy. The Netflix sci-fi drama, which first premiered in July 2016, has become one of the streamer’s biggest hits and has made stars of its cast.

To celebrate the eighth anniversary of its debut, producers uploaded a behind-the-scenes clip announcing that the crew were halfway through filming season five. The two-minute teaser video opens with a shot of a clapperboard before showing a montage of well-known locations from the show, including Hawkins High School.

Caleb McLaughlin, who plays Lucas, narrates over the footage, “Welcome to season five of Stranger Things.” The video then shows a shot of Mike, Lucas, Will, and Dustin – the original group of four characters who were at the center of season one.

Fans had been hoping to see the gang back together after spending much of the series’ fourth outing separated. Later in the video, Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike, says he’s “excited to have scenes with the original four”.

The clip also shows Millie Bobbie Brown, who plays psychic character Eleven, driving a car and reflecting on how much she’s grown since starting the show at age 10. Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin, is also seen walking onto the set and says, “this is home”.

The teaser also gives fans a glimpse of British actor Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays the evil Vecna, and actress Linda Hamilton, known for her work on the Terminator movies.

Within hours of being posted, the teaser clip had over a million views across TikTok, YouTube, and X. Fans were largely happy to receive an update on the progress of the highly anticipated final season, but some expressed unhappiness that actor Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers, would appear in season five due to his previous controversial comments.
