Leicester City Make Fatawu Signing Permanent!

Leicester City Football Club bolstered their attacking options with the permanent signing of exciting young winger Abdul Fatawu from Sporting Lisbon.

The Foxes triggered the buy option in his loan contract, securing his services for the long term.

Fatawu, a 20-year-old Ghanaian international, impressed on loan at King Power Stadium last season. He played a key role in Leicester’s Sky Bet Championship title win and subsequent Premier League promotion, contributing with seven goals in 43 appearances across all competitions.

The highlight of his loan spell was a memorable first career hat-trick in a 5-0 victory against Southampton on Filbert Way. His electric pace and skill quickly endeared him to the Leicester faithful, earning him a place in the hearts of the “Blue Army.”

Leicester City celebrated the signing in style, collaborating with local Foxes fan band The Mercians. The Coalville-based band surprised Fatawu with a special rendition of the Blue Army’s now-famous Fatawu chant, performed at King Power Stadium.

With the transfer completed, Fatawu has signed a five-year contract with the club. He will be looking to continue his impressive form and make a significant impact in the Premier League.
