- Dubois has signed a long-term promotional deal with Boxxer
- Dubois will face Maira Moneo of Uruguay
- This fight marks a significant step
Rising British star Caroline Dubois (23) has signed a long-term promotional deal with Boxxer and will face Maira Moneo of Uruguay for the WBC interim lightweight title on August 3rd at Oakwell Stadium in Barnsley.
This fight marks a significant step for Dubois, who will also defend her IBO title against the experienced Moneo (31-1). Her sights are set even higher, with the ultimate goal of unifying the division and dethroning the undisputed champion, Katie Taylor.
“This is my chance to shine on the big stage,” declared Dubois. “My goal is to become world champion, and that means unifying all the titles. After that, I plan to move up in weight and continue challenging myself.”
Taylor, the current pound-for-pound queen of boxing, holds all four major lightweight titles. She’s scheduled to defend her belts against Amanda Serrano in November.
“A win this August positions me for a mandatory fight with Taylor,” Dubois continued. “Unless she vacates the title, we’ll be facing off next.”
The Dubois vs. Moneo bout will be part of the undercard for the British and Commonwealth super-middleweight title fight between Zak Chelli and Callum Simpson. This stacked event promises an exciting night of boxing for fans at Barnsley FC’s stadium.
