Beverly Afaglo Calls Out Ghanaian Movie Producers for Neglecting ‘Old’ Actors

Ghanaian actress Beverly Afaglo has expressed her disappointment with Ghanaian movie producers and directors for not casting “old” actors in their movie projects. In a recent Instagram post, she stated that 80% of veteran actors are currently not getting movie roles.

“How many of the old faces do you producers and directors cast anyway? 80% ain’t working. What is going on? Shoutout to all the producers holding us down. The industry needs you. Keep going,” she wrote.

Afaglo also mentioned that she has only shot two movies this year and called on producers to consider her for their film projects. “I think I am getting bored. I have done only two productions this whole year: ‘Yaa Basabasa’ on YouTube and one movie produced by Steve Ekeso. Where are the producers and directors? Forgotten about me? I’m a versatile actor ooo. I can do it all. Or you say you want new faces? Or you can’t pay me? Try me,” she added.

The award-winning actress has appeared in numerous films, including “I Love You But”, “Return of Beyonce”, “Crime to Christ”, and “Sidechic Gang”. In addition to acting, Afaglo runs her personal businesses, including her recently launched Traffic Shawarma venture. She emphasized the importance of actors having side businesses to serve as alternative sources of income, especially with the influx of new talent in the industry.
