Kim Kardashian Gets a Salmon Sperm Facial Injected into Her Face to Combat Aging
In the latest episode of The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian revealed to her mother, Kris Jenner, that she had undergone a unique skincare treatment – a salmon sperm facial. “I got a salmon sperm facial with salmon sperm injected into my face,” Kardashian shared. While she didn’t disclose the treatment’s effects, she’s not the only celebrity to try this unconventional method. Jennifer Aniston also experimented with the salmon sperm facial, as revealed in the August 2023 issue of WSJ. Magazine’s Fall Women’s Fashion edition.
Aniston initially expressed skepticism, unsure if the facial made a noticeable difference in her skin. In contrast, Kardashian opted for injections, considered the most effective way to achieve results. Typically, salmon sperm facials involve microneedling to allow the serum to penetrate deeper into the skin. However, the use of salmon sperm in skincare remains under-researched, and experts advise consulting a dermatologist or aesthetician to ensure safety and effectiveness tailored to individual skin types.
According to York City-based dermatologist Joshua Zeichner, MD, “Salmon [semen] has been shown to improve skin hydration, plumpness, texture, and wrinkles.” The benefits are attributed to high DNA levels, composed of amino acids, which have long been used in skincare for their hydrating and cell-renewing benefits. As celebrities explore this unique skincare trend, it remains to be seen if salmon sperm facials will become mainstream.
