Alban Bagbin, the Speaker of Parliament, has instructed the Clerk of Parliament to deliver a copy of the adhoc committee’s report investigating a leaked tape regarding the removal of the IGP to President Akufo-Addo for any further necessary action.

This directive came after Parliament adopted the committee’s report.

The report, which lacked the signature of its Chairman, Samuel Atta Akyea, revealed that three senior police officers—COP Alex George Mensah, Supt. George Lysander Asare, and Supt. Emmanuel Eric Gyebi—engaged in misconduct, a serious violation under Police regulations, warranting sanctions according to the Police disciplinary procedure.

Mr. Bagbin issued the directive following the report’s adoption by the house, stating, “The report has been duly adopted. I hereby instruct the clerk to parliament to provide a copy of this adopted report to His Excellency, the President, in his capacity as chairman of the police council, for any further action he deems necessary.”
