Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has accused his counterpart from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, of dodging a debate. Bawumia believes Mahama is afraid to engage in a debate because his policies are empty and lack substance.
Addressing NPP supporters in Nalerigu on Wednesday, July 11, Bawumia challenged Mahama to a debate on the economy and governance. He claimed that Mahama and his communicators are struggling to explain the NDC’s proposed 24-hour economy policy.
Bawumia mocked the policy, calling it “as empty as an empty barrel” and joked that the NDC plans to export lions and elephants. He emphasized that he will continue to promote the NPP’s policies to Ghanaians, with or without a debate.
Bawumia expressed his eagerness to engage in a man-to-man debate with Mahama, allowing the country to compare their policies. He believes that a debate will expose the weaknesses in Mahama’s policies and showcase the NPP’s superior vision.
Despite Mahama’s reluctance, Bawumia remains committed to selling his policies to the people of Ghana. The NPP flagbearer is confident that Ghanaians will make an informed decision based on the policies presented, even if Mahama avoids a debate.
