“NPP Targets 85% of Ashanti Region Votes, Campaigns on ‘Dumsiesie’ Not ‘Dumsor’ – Opoku Prempeh”

Energy Minister and Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, was officially unveiled at Jubilee Park in Kumasi, where he delivered a passionate address to the crowd. Dr. Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO, emphasized that Ghana is not experiencing “dumsor” (frequent power outages), but rather “dumsiesie” (power outages to fix problems).

He urged members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to work diligently towards securing 85% of votes from the Ashanti Region in the upcoming December 7 elections. Dr. Opoku Prempeh rallied the party faithful, stating, “When we leave this place, we are going to do hard work. TESCON members, the only party which will give you a future is NPP. We are not joking in this election.”

He expressed his trust in President Nana Akufo-Addo’s leadership and called for a victory in the December elections as a reward for Akufo-Addo’s confidence in him as the Director of Elections. Dr. Opoku Prempeh highlighted the achievements of the Akufo-Addo government, including the construction of 111 hospitals and the implementation of Free SHS, which has absorbed the cost of secondary education.

He emphasized the NPP’s commitment to progress and development, stating that the party is dedicated to improving the lives of Ghanaians. The crowd was energized by Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s speech, which set the stage for a vigorous campaign season.
