“Govt Vows to Revive Stalled Affordable Housing Projects”

The Ministry of Works and Housing has reiterated the government’s commitment to completing various abandoned affordable housing projects across the country. Sector Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah assured that the government is working closely with private developers to finalize these projects.

During an inspection of a housing project in Adenta, Accra, Oppong Nkrumah emphasized that the government is determined to ensure that resources invested in constructing these affordable housing projects are not wasted. He stated that the government is conducting an exercise to resume work on many of these abandoned projects and bring them to completion.

The Minister highlighted progress made on the Saglemi Housing project, which is one of the abandoned projects being revived. He also mentioned that work will soon resume on former President J.A Kufuor’s affordable housing project in Akwadum, Koforidua, which had been stalled.

Oppong Nkrumah expressed his satisfaction with the progress made so far and reiterated the government’s dedication to providing affordable housing for Ghanaians. He acknowledged that the government’s efforts to complete these projects are crucial to ensuring that the resources invested are not wasted.

The Minister’s assurance comes as a relief to many Ghanaians who have been waiting for these projects to be completed. The completion of these affordable housing projects is expected to provide relief to the housing deficit in the country and improve the lives of many Ghanaians.
