Otumfuo Osei Tutu II advises Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the chosen running mate in the 2024 presidential election, not to disappoint Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia who selected him.
During the unveiling ceremony at the Manhyia Palace, the Asantehene emphasized, “Don’t let Bawumia regret choosing you. Do everything he instructs. Stay humble and heed his guidance.”
Addressing perceptions of arrogance surrounding Dr. Opoku Prempeh, Otumfuo remarked, “Despite claims of arrogance, I, as his father, know it’s untrue. So, act rightly. Uphold integrity and ensure all is well.”
Otumfuo also called on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to clearly articulate their agenda to Ghanaians ahead of the December elections.
Expressing appreciation to President Akufo-Addo, Dr. Bawumia, and the entire NPP for selecting Dr. Opoku Prempeh, the revered chief urged Dr. Bawumia to effectively mentor his protege. He assured, “Guide him well, and if he errs, inform me. I will offer counsel.”
