Kotoko Makes Double Signing: Sudanese Forward and Defender Join Club
- Kotoko have bolstered their squad
- The club recently released over 20 players
- Coach Kwasi Appiah recommended the signings
Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko SC have bolstered their squad with the signings of two Sudanese footballers, AbdoelRahman Yoouef Yagoub and Esmat Hassabalbagi.
Yagoub, a forward, joins Kotoko from Hay Alwady in Sudan. He is expected to fill the void left by Steven Mukwala, who departed the club after scoring 14 goals in the Ghana Premier League last season.
Hassabalbagi, a defender, joins from Al Hilal and will provide cover at left-back for the Porcupine Warriors.
The Sudanese duo are the first signings for Kotoko in their ongoing squad rebuild. The club recently released over 20 players in a bid to revamp their team.
The signings were reportedly recommended by Sudan coach Kwasi Appiah, who is part of Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee.
Both Yagoub and Hassabalbagi could make their Asante Kotoko debut on July 17, 2024, in the Democracy Cup match against Hearts of Oak.
