Nigerian Afrobeat superstar, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has publicly criticized the marriage of fellow artist, David Adeleke, known as Davido, as a bad example.
In a recent social media engagement, Burna Boy praised the marriage of Adekunle Gold and Simi as a good example to be emulated. Adekunle Gold, whose real name is Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko, married Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, known by her stage name Simi, in 2019.
The conversation began when Burna Boy posted on his handle, “Odogwu too wise” who no hear go feel”. A fan, @badlieutanant, responded by urging Burna Boy to get married and start a family like Davido. However, Burna Boy expressed his preference for remaining a bachelor, citing the challenges Davido is facing in his marriage.
When another fan, @RealDreylo, criticized his response, Burna Boy asked if Davido’s marriage was a better example. A third fan, @sunofoba, then asked if Adekunle Gold’s marriage was a better example, to which Burna Boy responded, “Ehen! Na wetin we dey pray for be that bros.”
This conversation comes amid news of Davido’s ongoing custody battle with his daughter’s mother, Sophia Momodu, who has claimed that their daughter would suffer trauma if she stays in David’s custody.
