2024 BECE Kicks Off with Over 569,000 Candidates Across Ghana

Today marks the commencement of the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE), with 569,095 candidates set to begin their exams at 2,123 designated centers nationwide. The exams will run until Monday, July 15, 2024.
In a statement issued on Sunday, July 7, the Ghana Education Service (GES) congratulated the candidates for their diligence and resilience. They also expressed gratitude to teachers, school heads, education directors, parents, and all stakeholders for their significant roles in preparing the candidates.
The statement emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity during the exams, urging all involved parties—candidates, invigilators, supervisors, school authorities, teachers, and parents—to avoid any form of malpractice. GES, along with WAEC and security services, assured the public of their concerted efforts to ensure smooth and fair conduct of the examinations nationwide.
Furthermore, the GES informed parents, candidates, and the public that the school selection process would commence after the BECE, with details to be communicated in due course.
