Otumfuo Officially Informs Asanteman about UK Trip
The Occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has officially informed the Asanteman Council about his scheduled trip to London in the United Kingdom (UK).
This was at a meeting of the Council- their first meeting after the 25th Anniversary celebration of the King- at the Manhyia Palace on Thursday, July 4, 2024.
The visit is at the invitation of the British Museum and will take place in a few days.
“I will be delivering a lecture at the British Museum, one of the museums that handed over some of our looted treasures. It will take place on July 19.”
In order to beat time for the Awukudae festival, he said, he will leave the country earlier than expected on Saturday, July 13, 2024.
From the UK, he will return to Ghana to settle some issues before another trip to Columbia in August, he told the Council.
Among those issues are elevating some stools to paramountcies and settling some pending disputes, he noted.
“There are a lot of issues at home so I will return to Ghana to look at them before I go to Columbia. From the UK, I will meet Nananom to settle pertinent issues. All Committees with issues pending before them must furnish me with their reports upon my return.”
