Renowned radio personality Kwame Sefa Kayi has spoken out against Chef Ebenezer Smith, also known as Chef Smith, for falsely claiming to have set a Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

Chef Smith held a press conference on July 2, 2024, announcing that he had set a new record with a cooking marathon lasting 802 hours and 25 minutes, displaying a certificate purportedly from Guinness World Records. However, Guinness World Records has confirmed that the certificate is fake, and the current record holder is Alan Fisher.

“I’m really pained about it. Why would you do that? …This is unfortunate. This is sad,” Kwame Sefa Kayi said on Peace FM, expressing his disappointment and confusion over the incident.

Guinness World Records’ PR Manager, Madalyn Bielfield, stated, “No, this is not true at all. He does not hold the GWR title, and that is not our certificate.”
