Nigerian comedian Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, popularly known as Sabinus, has publicly thanked Grammy award-winning singer Burna Boy for a career-defining experience. In a social media post, Sabinus expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to perform at Burna Boy’s London show, revealing that he was paid $100,000 for a one-minute performance.
Sabinus recounted how Burna Boy initially informed him about the performance, which he thought was a joke. However, when Burna Boy called him two days before the show, he realized the offer was genuine. Sabinus was flown to London on a private jet, a first-time experience for him, and was told he would open the stage for Burna Boy.
Performing before a massive crowd of 80,000 people left Sabinus almost speechless, but he was grateful for the opportunity. He praised Burna Boy for his generosity, stating, “Performing at the London stadium was the biggest 1-minute of my career!! Thanks Burna Boy. Burna Boy paid me $100k to perform for 1-minute and still paid for my flight to and fro London.”
Sabinus continued, “When Burna Boy called me to come perform at the London Stadium, I thought he was joking and I just laughed. But I was shocked when he called me 2 days to the show and said ‘My bro, pack your bags because a private jet is gonna pick you up tomorrow.’ That was when I believed that he was actually serious… Burna Boy paid me handsomely. I will always be grateful to Burna Boy.”
