Meta Expands Monetization Features For Ghanaian Content Creators To Earn Money

Meta has officially announced the expansion of its monetization features for content creators in Ghana, according to a statement from the Ministry of Information.

Sade Dada, Public Policy Manager for Anglophone West Africa at Meta, communicated the development to the Ministry, highlighting the opportunities it presents for content creators to earn revenue from their online content.

Through the expanded features, creators will be able to earn a share of revenue from Facebook’s in-stream ads, as well as ads placed on their reels on Facebook. Meta plans to further expand its monetization features on Instagram later this year.

To access the monetization features, content creators must comply with Meta’s Partner Monetization Policies and Content Monetization Policies, which include stricter guidelines than the community standards on content and presentation format. Advertisers must also adhere to Meta’s advertising standards, designed to protect users and support meaningful connections between people and businesses.

The move aims to empower content creators in Ghana to earn money locally from their online content and access advanced features to manage their businesses online. The Ministry of Information commended Meta for its investment in Ghana’s digital future and looks forward to continued collaboration to promote digital innovation and entrepreneurship in Ghana.

The expansion is expected to create new opportunities for Ghana’s talented creators and support the growth of the country’s digital economy.
