Fulham Boss Marco Silva Stays Loyal, Rejects Saudi Arabia Move

Story Highlights

  • Fulham have confidence in keeping Silva

Fulham manager Marco Silva has rebuffed advances from Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad, opting to remain in the Premier League.

The 46-year-old reportedly met with Al-Ittihad officials, a team backed by the country’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), which also owns Newcastle United. However, Silva has chosen to stay committed to Fulham.

This decision comes after similar interest from another PIF-controlled club, Al-Ahli, last summer. Fulham have consistently expressed confidence in keeping Silva, impressed by his leadership in securing Premier League survival for two consecutive seasons after promotion.

With Silva staying put, Stefano Pioli, former AC Milan manager, is now believed to be the favorite to take the Al-Ittihad job.
