A St. Louis couple’s wedding celebration turned into a nightmare when the groom was shot in the head by masked gunmen.
Manuel Gonzalez, 32, remained hospitalized in critical condition after the attack early Saturday morning. The shooting occurred in the backyard of the bride’s home as guests celebrated their small wedding.
According to police, two masked gunmen entered the backyard and ordered everyone to stay still. One gunman stood behind Gonzalez while the other robbed the guests. Witnesses reported that one of the gunmen then shot Gonzalez in the head before they both fled the scene.
The groom’s sister, Yaribeth Pena, described her sister Dulce as heartbroken and devastated as her new husband fights for his life. The couple has two children.
Police are searching for the suspects and have made no arrests in the case.
