A devastating building collapse in Gomoa Osamkrom, Gomoa Central District, Central Region, has claimed the lives of two young siblings, a one-year-old girl and her month-old brother.
The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, when their mother, Sophia Arthur, had briefly stepped out to bathe after feeding them. She recounted hearing a terrifying sound and rushing out of the bathhouse to find the entire building reduced to rubble.
Residents rushed to the scene to help the family rescue the children from the debris, but unfortunately, they were pronounced dead. The bodies have been taken to the Agona Sweden Government Hospital mortuary.
“I heard a terrifying sound and rushed out of the bathhouse only to find the entire building on the ground,” Sophia Arthur said, distraught.
Investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of the building collapse.
