A 30-year-old man, Kwabena Mensah, met a tragic end on Sunday night at Kasoa Ofaakor in the Awutu Senya East District of the Central Region. He was lynched by his friends over a disagreement about GH₵200.

According to reports, Kwabena and his friends, believed to be Asafo members of Kasoa Odupong Ofaako Stool, had gone to an estate developer’s site to demand a GH₵7,000 fine for flouting a noise-making ban. After receiving the money, they proceeded to another developer to demand GH₵200, leading to a heated exchange between Kwabena and his friends.

In an interview with Adom News, Edem Saglo, brother of the deceased, identified two of the attackers as Beards and Baddest Shatta. He narrated that the suspects attacked Kwabena while they were drinking, wielding stones and sticks. Edem attempted to intervene but was hit with a stick and fell unconscious. When he regained consciousness, his brother was in a terrible state, and despite rushing him to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.

The suspects are currently at large, and the case has been reported at the Kasoa Ofaako District Police Command.
