“Kudus Crowned Footballer of the Year Again at 2024 Ghana Football Awards”

Mohammed Kudus has made history by winning the Footballer of the Year award for the second consecutive time at the 2024 Ghana Football Awards. The West Ham United midfielder had a stellar season, scoring 14 goals and registering six assists in 45 appearances, helping the Hammers reach the UEFA Europa League quarterfinals.

Kudus’ outstanding performances also made him a key player for the Black Stars, scoring twice in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) despite the team’s early elimination. The 23-year-old’s remarkable solo goal against Freiburg in the UEFA Europa League was also celebrated as one of the best goals of the season.

Kudus outshone competitors Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Osman Bukarai, and Inaki Williams to clinch the award, solidifying his position as one of Ghana’s top footballers. The 2024 Ghana Football Awards also honored other exceptional talents, including Jennifer Kankam Yeboah, who won Women’s Footballer of the Year, and Nurudeen Amadu, who won Men’s Coach of the Year.

Other winners included Yussif Basigi, who won Women’s Coach of the Year, and Abdul Aziz Issah, who won the Odartey Lamptey Future Star Award. The awards ceremony also recognized the contributions of Ghanaian clubs, with FC Samartex winning Male Team of the Year and Hasaacas Ladies winning Female Team of the Year.

The event was attended by prominent figures in Ghanaian football, including Nanasam Brew Butler and Adjoa Bayor, who were honored with Living Legend Awards. The 2024 Ghana Football Awards celebrated the achievements of Ghanaian footballers and coaches, both domestically and internationally, and reinforced the country’s passion for the beautiful game.
