“Fatal Accident at Aseseaso, One Person Feared Dead”

A tragic accident has occurred at Aseseaso in the Eastern Region, involving staff members from Koforidua Senior High Technical School, who were returning from a funeral ceremony. The staff had attended the funeral of a colleague’s spouse in Akwamufie, Asuogyaman District, and were traveling back to Koforidua in a school bus.

The bus, which was carrying over 20 staff members, was descending from Adukrom to Aseseaso when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn into a nearby valley. The accident occurred around 5 pm on Saturday, and eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud crash and screams from the victims.

Rescue efforts were led by fire personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service, who arrived at the scene shortly after the accident. The rescue team worked tirelessly to extricate trapped victims from the wreckage, and administered first aid to those injured.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while two others were rushed to Yilo Krobo Government Hospital in critical condition. The hospital authorities confirmed that the two victims are receiving urgent medical attention, and their conditions are being closely monitored.

The school authorities have expressed shock and sadness over the accident, and have visited the victims and their families to offer condolences and support. The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into the accident, to determine the cause of the crash and prevent similar incidents in the future.
