  • Hajia4Reall to be sentenced in US court after pleading guilty to internet fraud
  • Prosecutors seek full 37-month sentence
  • Hajia4Reall allegedly participated in a $2 million romance scam

Ghanaian musician and social media influencer Hajia4Reall, born Mona Faiz Montrage, is set to be sentenced today, June 28, 2024, in a US court after pleading guilty to charges related to internet fraud.

Hajia4Reall’s legal team had appealed for a three-month sentence, emphasizing her role as a single mother and the importance of her presence in her child’s life.

However, the US Attorney’s Office has strongly opposed this request, arguing that a full 37-month sentence is warranted based on similar cases, asserting that leniency would undermine deterrence efforts.

The charges stem from allegations that Hajia4Reall participated in a romance scam amounting to $2 million, which involved wire fraud, money laundering, and receipt of stolen funds.

According to reports, Hajia4Reall implicated Loveman Allison, the father of her child, claiming he introduced her to fraudulent activities while they were together in the United States. She contends that Allison has been an irresponsible father to their daughter.

The case has drawn attention due to Hajia4Reall’s prominence in Ghanaian social circles and her previous statements about her entrepreneurial success. She was extradited from the United Kingdom to face charges in the United States.

The sentencing hearing is expected to be pivotal, with implications for both Hajia4Reall’s future and the legal precedent regarding similar financial crimes.
