“I Was Not Appreciated for My Work on Larruso’s Killy Killy” – Kulubayo

A recent interview has sparked a heated exchange between Jadon, manager of artist Larruso, and renowned sound engineer Kulubayo (Martinson Ampadu) over credits for the hit song “Killy Killy”.

In an interview on 3FM, Kulubayo claimed he was not adequately appreciated for his contribution to the track’s success, stating he was responsible for the critical sound engineering behind the scenes. “The engineer gives birth to the song,” he emphasized, highlighting the importance of his mixing and mastering skills in making the track a hit.

Kulubayo revealed he also wrote some lyrics and recorded a low-tempo version of the hook, but felt sidelined and unappreciated despite the song’s massive success, garnering over 1.9 million views. He accused Larruso’s team of exploiting his loyalty, often working on tracks for free without due credit.

Jadon, Larruso’s manager, responded in a phone conversation, defending their actions and cautioning Kulubayo against airing internal disputes publicly, citing potential harm to their professional relationship and the artist’s image.
