“I have an intention to re-contest for political office” – Funke Akindele

Nigerian filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele has announced her intention to re-contest for political office, citing her passion for empowering young people and nurturing talent. “I enjoyed every part of it. It was quite challenging, but I enjoyed every part of it,” she said, referencing her 2023 campaign as the running mate to Lagos governorship candidate Olajide Adediran. She also announced a sequel to her 2023 film “A Tribe Called Judah,” which grossed over N1 billion at the box office.
