Ghanaian center-back Jerome Opoku has secured a permanent transfer to Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir, leaving Portuguese side Arouca FC.

Solid Season on Loan
During his loan spell, Opoku became a regular starter for Basaksehir, making 28 appearances across all competitions. He contributed offensively with four goals, while also showcasing his defensive strength by keeping eight clean sheets.
International Experience
The 25-year-old has already earned three caps for the Ghanaian national team, the Black Stars.
He made his debut in a friendly match against the United States and has also featured in games against Uganda and Nigeria. While his debut against the US ended in a 4-0 loss, he scored his first international goal in the 2-1 defeat to Nigeria.
Opoku’s red card in the 2-2 draw with Uganda will be a learning experience as he looks to establish himself as a key player for both club and country.
