The National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) President, Oppong Ababio Ezekiel, in collaboration with Korle Klottey members, has distributed sanitary pads to pupils in Adabraka, in a bid to address menstruation poverty and reduce stigmatization.

he initiative, which targeted pupils at Rev. Ernest Bruce Memorial Methodist Basic School and Junior High School students within the Greater Accra District, aimed to educate beneficiaries on proper menstrual hygiene management.

“We want to urge all parents to encourage their girls or teenagers during their menstruation periods,” said Justina Addo, Women’s Commissioner of Korle Klottey NASPA, in an interview with Adom News. “The purpose of this program is to address menstruation poverty and reduce stigmatization during the menstrual period. We are here to provide education to them on how to manage their menstruation and keep themselves clean.”

Pupils who benefited from the session expressed their gratitude to the donors, acknowledging the impact of the initiative on their lives.

The distribution of sanitary pads and sensitization program is a welcome gesture, aimed at promoting menstrual health and hygiene among young girls in the community.
