In a tense match at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon, Nsoatreman Football Club emerged victorious against Bofoakwa Tano, winning the MTN FA Cup title.
The game ended 1-1 after regulation and extra time, with Maxwell Konadu’s Nsoatreman securing a 5-4 victory in the penalty shootout.
The match was a replay of the goalless draws in the Ghana Premier League season, with Richard Dzikoe and Sadat Mohammed scoring in the 22nd and 79th minutes respectively.
The 16-year-old sensation Forster Apetorgbor, who gained fame by scoring against Kumasi Asante Kotoko, scored the winning penalty to secure Nsoatreman’s spot in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
Pre-game ceremonies included a minute of silence for former Ghana Premier League players Hans Kwofie and William Essu, and Ghana football legend Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu presenting the trophy.
Defending champions Dreams FC were eliminated by Bofoakwa Tano in the semifinals, ending their impressive run in the Confederation Cup.
