Mbappe On The Mend, France Eyes Group Stage Finish
- Mbappé is recovering well from a broken nose
- France managed one goal in their last three matches
- Mbappé's teammates suggested the striker is eager to return
France’s star forward Kylian Mbappé is recovering well from a broken nose, but coach Didier Deschamps remains tight-lipped about his availability for Tuesday’s final group stage match against Poland.
Speaking on French television, Deschamps offered positive updates on Mbappé’s progress. “He’s recovering well, the swelling is going down, and he’s getting used to the mask,” said the coach, keeping the decision on playing him a mystery – “you’ll see.”
This news comes after France’s disappointing 0-0 draw against the Netherlands, leaving fans questioning their attacking capabilities.
Notably, France has only managed one goal in their last three matches, with that being an own goal by Austria in their opening game.
Deschamps, however, refused to reveal any potential changes to the attacking line-up, despite France’s likely qualification to the knockout stages with their current four points. “I have a plan for the team that will ensure qualification and the best possible group finish,” he said, hinting at potential rotation for some players.
Mbappé’s teammates, during a press conference, suggested the striker is eager to return to the pitch, especially after a training session on Saturday.
This adds weight to the possibility of seeing him play against Poland.
