Black Stars Climb FIFA Rankings After World Cup Qualifier Wins
- Black Stars jump in latest FIFA ranking
- Their impressive performances have propelled them up
- Argentina maintains their dominant position
Ghana’s national football team, the Black Stars, have enjoyed a significant jump in the latest FIFA rankings, released on Thursday, June 20th.
After occupying 68th place in April, their impressive performances have propelled them up four spots to their current position at 64th.
This rise comes on the heels of back-to-back victories for the Black Stars in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
Coach Otto Addo’s squad demonstrated resilience by coming from behind to defeat Mali 2-1 in Bamako earlier this month.
They then followed that up with a thrilling 4-3 home win against the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
The Black Stars’ success extends beyond the global rankings. They’ve also climbed two places within the African continental rankings, moving from 14th to 12th.
At the top of the world rankings, Argentina maintains their dominant position after their recent triumphs. France remains firmly in second place.
There’s a slight shakeup in the European positions, with Belgium overtaking England to claim the third spot, while England falls to fourth.
