The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has renewed its welfare policy with the State Insurance Company (SIC-Life) for the third consecutive year. This renewal is a testament to the union’s commitment to providing support and security to its members.

At a ceremony to sign the agreement, MUSIGA President Bessa Simons urged all members to subscribe to the MUSIGA SIC-Life Insurance scheme. He emphasized the importance of being protected against unforeseen circumstances, such as accidents and emergencies.

Simons highlighted that over the past three years, numerous members across the country have benefited from the scheme. He encouraged all musicians to take advantage of this initiative, which provides financial support in times of need.

The MUSIGA General Secretary, S.K Agyemang, expressed his excitement about the signing of the contract. He emphasized that the scheme serves as a buffer against unexpected challenges and encouraged all members to sign up.

Under the scheme, families of deceased MUSIGA members who are subscribed will receive GHC 5,000.00. Additionally, the scheme offers other benefits, including permanent disability support, child benefit, and parental benefits, among others.

Andrew Adu-Asante, representing the Corporate Group Business department of SIC-Life, congratulated MUSIGA on this initiative. He praised the union for prioritizing the well-being of its members.

The signing ceremony was attended by representatives from SIC-Life, including Andrew Adu-Asante, Elliot Botchway, and Alfred Codjoe from the Corporate Group Business Department. Also present were Mary-Joan Acheampomaa and Ampem Loretta Yamnobiya Anafu from the Group Underwriting Department.

The renewal of the insurance scheme demonstrates MUSIGA’s dedication to supporting its members beyond their musical careers. By providing financial security, the union aims to alleviate some of the challenges musicians face.

Bessa Simons emphasized that accidents and emergencies can occur unexpectedly, making it essential for members to be prepared. By subscribing to the scheme, musicians can ensure that their loved ones are protected in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
