English goalkeeper Ellie Roebuck has found a new home at FC Barcelona, signing a deal that keeps her with the club until June 2026.

The 24-year-old arrives at Barcelona after a successful stint with Manchester City, where she amassed over 100 appearances and was part of their 2016 WSL title-winning squad.

Roebuck also boasts 11 caps for the England national team, including being part of the victorious Euro 2022 squad.

Following the expiration of her contract with City, Roebuck expressed her delight at joining Barcelona: “I am very excited. I’d been waiting for this chance for a long time. I’m very happy to be here. You could say that now everything fits and this was the perfect time to come.”

Roebuck’s career began brightly, making her senior debut for City on the very day they clinched the WSL championship in 2016.

However, earlier this year, she faced a health setback after suffering a stroke. Thankfully, she has made a full recovery and is ready to embark on a new chapter with Barcelona.

It’s worth noting that Roebuck’s England teammate, Khiara Keating, took over the starting goalkeeper role at Manchester City during the 2023-24 season.
