Legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has expressed concerns that the audio recording between Attorney-General Godfred Dame and Richard Jakpa in the Ato Forson trial may have damaged Ghana’s reputation.
While the Attorney-General has downplayed the impact of the recording, Kpebu believes it has had a negative effect on the country’s image.
The High Court has admitted the audio recording into evidence, and Judge Justice Efia Serwah Asare-Botwey has clarified that the tape does not contain any instructions from the Attorney-General to implicate Dr. Ato Forson.
However, the judge has advised the Attorney-General to recuse himself from the case to maintain public trust and uphold justice.
The trial continues, with the audio recording now part of the evidence.
The legal community and the public are watching the case closely, awaiting the outcome.
