The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Augustus Andrews, also known as Chairman Nana Akwasi, has strongly criticized Dr. Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for undermining Ghana’s education system.

Andrews accused Bawumia of busing Senior High School students to a political rally to boost his popularity, violating the laws that prohibit partisan politics in schools.

He questioned whether high school students in the US, where Education Minister Yaw Adutwum claims to have experience, are allowed to participate in political rallies during school hours.

Andrews condemned the exploitation of students for political gain, urging parents to join the NDC in demanding answers from the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS).

He denounced the politicization of education, calling it a dangerous adventure that compromises student safety and the learning environment.
