The Black Stars of Ghana will discover their opponents for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers on July 4, 2024, when the draw takes place at the SuperSport Studios in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The draw will feature 48 nations, including the four winners from the preliminary round: Chad, Eswatini, Liberia, and South Sudan, who have already secured their spots in the next phase of the competition.
These teams will be drawn into 12 groups of four, with each group vying for a spot in the prestigious tournament. The draw will be conducted by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and will determine the groups for the qualifiers scheduled to begin in September 2024.

Other participating nations include Chad, Comoros, Congo, DR Congo, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sao Tome & Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
The draw will be attended by selected CAF legends, representatives of the participating teams, and members of the Local Organising Committee for Morocco 2025. The event will be broadcast live on SuperSport and other CAF partner channels.
The qualifiers will be played in a round-robin format, with each team playing the other teams in their group twice. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the AFCON 2025 in Morocco, along with the best third-placed teams.
