Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the 2024 flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has made a passionate appeal to Ghanaians to elect him as president, citing his outstanding performance as Vice President as a testament to his capability to lead the nation.
Addressing a packed Youth Connect event in the Ashanti Region as part of his campaign tour, Dr. Bawumia highlighted his impressive achievements and extensive contributions to the country’s development, stating that his work speaks for itself.
“I’ve outperformed all other Vice Presidents in Ghana’s Fourth Republic,” he declared. “My work rate stands out, with 33 policy initiatives spearheaded, compared to zero by my predecessor, John Mahama. I’ve excelled as Vice President, and I’m ready to take on the highest office.”
Dr. Bawumia also emphasized his long-term commitment to the people of Ghana, noting that his potential eight-year term would ensure greater accountability, unlike his opponent’s four-year term. “Vote for someone who will be accountable and rely on your mandate in 2028, not someone seeking a honeymoon,” he urged the enthusiastic crowd.
