“Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy free to perform together, says Sammy Flex”

Sammy Flex, the manager of renowned Reggae Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, has categorically refuted reports suggesting that Shatta Wale has been barred from performing on the same stage as his rival, Stonebwoy.

The rumors gained traction after Shatta Wale was prevented from taking the stage at the Wave Africa Artiste Night on Saturday, June 8, coincidentally the same day Stonebwoy was billed to perform at the Hilla Limann karaoke concert on the University of Ghana’s Legon campus.

It is worth noting that since their infamous brawl on the night of the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), both artistes have not shared the same stage or venue for any performance.

There have been several instances where both Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy have been billed to perform at the same concert or event, but one of them has either withdrawn, been prevented from performing, or failed to show up.

Following the recent incident where authorities at the University of Ghana prevented Shatta Wale from performing at an artiste night on campus, radio presenter Ola Michael claimed that both artistes had signed a bond agreeing not to perform at the same venue and on the same day.

However, Sammy Flex has vehemently denied this claim, labeling it as “false”. In a video posted on his YouTube channel on June 11, Sammy Flex stated, “It is not true that Shatta Wale has signed a bond not to perform on stage with Stonebwoy. There is nothing like that.”

Sammy Flex emphasized that he has questioned Shatta Wale and people around him about the alleged bond, and none have confirmed its existence.

He explained that the only understanding Shatta Wale remembers is being told to behave well, which does not imply that they cannot share the same stage.

Sammy Flex expressed frustration about the perpetuation of this false narrative, asking, “Why are people spreading this false information?” He hopes that his statement will set the record straight and put an end to the rumors.
