Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as Napo, received a resounding welcome in Kumasi on Monday, with crowds chanting “our incoming Vice President!”

Napo, the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, is widely tipped to be Dr. Bawumia’s running mate in the December polls.

His impressive performance as a minister and his popularity within the NPP have earned him widespread support, including from leading party members and Kennedy Agyapong, who has pledged to campaign for the party only if Napo is chosen as Dr. Bawumia’s running mate.

As Napo accompanied Dr. Bawumia on a three-day campaign tour in the Ashanti Region, he was met with enthusiastic chants of “Napo is our incoming vice president!” at every stop.

Despite the media buzz, Napo has remained silent on the possibility of being chosen as Dr. Bawumia’s running mate.

Sources close to him indicate that his focus is on helping Dr. Bawumia lead the NPP to victory and develop Ghana.

Napo’s impressive track record as a minister, particularly in introducing the free Senior High School policy and stabilizing power supply, has made him a standout performer in the current administration.

His intelligence, hard work, and dedication have earned him widespread admiration, making him a strong contender for the vice presidential slot.
