  • Addo doesn't shy away from addressing the fans' concerns

In his post-match conference following Ghana’s exhilarating 4-3 victory over the Central African Republic (CAR) in the FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, emphasized the need for patience in the team-building process during his second tenure at the helm.

Addo’s comments came after a thrilling encounter at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, where both Jordan Ayew for Ghana and Louis Mafouta for CAR secured hat-tricks, with Abdul Fatawu Issahaku also finding the net for the Black Stars.

Despite the victory, Addo acknowledged the concerns raised by fans, particularly regarding defensive lapses that led to two goals conceded in the first half.

“Rome wasn’t built in a day. It takes time to build a team and we will need time. We have young players who will grow and adapt. The second half today has to be the standard. If we play like we did in the second half then the probability of winning is higher,” Addo stated.

Ghana’s win sees them rise to the top of Group I standings with nine points, signaling promising prospects for the team’s future endeavors.
