George Twum-Barima-Adu, an aspiring Independent Candidate in the upcoming presidential election, has vowed to transform Ghana and break the dominance of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
With only six months to go before the December 7 general elections, political parties and presidential candidates are intensifying their campaigns to seek the mandate of the people. Twum-Barima-Adu is urging Ghanaians to reject both NPP and NDC and vote for him to take over governance, citing the parties’ failure to develop Ghana after 32 years of governance.
Speaking on Onua FM’s Etifi Nsem show on Saturday, June 8, he criticized the NPP and NDC for their poor performance, stating that they have only engaged in “create loot and share” after 32 years of governance.
He believes that the two major political parties have nothing new to offer Ghana and is urging the electorates to vote for him to change the country’s fortunes. Interestingly, Twum-Barima-Adu is suggesting that on December 7, electorates can vote for NPP and NDC parliamentary candidates but vote for him as president.
Outlining his policies, he promised a common prosperity for all, emphasizing that all public procurement and contracts would be reviewed to guarantee value for money and downsizing government. His administration plans to ensure that no government entity, including State-Owned Enterprises, will enter into a contract without government review, input, and approval.
To tackle galamsey, his government would enforce existing laws, pass new laws where necessary, and provide alternative livelihoods. Twum-Barima-Adu’s vision is to transform Ghana and bring prosperity to all citizens, and he is confident that his message will resonate with the electorates.
