Dr. Anthony Nsia Asare, Presidential Health Advisor, has highlighted the government’s efforts to enhance the working conditions of healthcare professionals in the nation, amidst concerns about brain drain.

In an interview, Dr. Nsia Asare emphasized the government’s commitment to improving the situation for health workers, recognizing the challenges posed by global mobility trends. He stressed ongoing initiatives aimed at bolstering support for healthcare personnel.

Regarding the Agenda 111 project, aimed at constructing hospitals across districts, Dr. Nsia Asare commended the government’s progress, noting significant advancements in hospital construction. He emphasized the innovative approach of establishing referral centers within the project, a novel concept globally.

The government aims to staff each hospital under construction with 500 personnel, further demonstrating its commitment to bolstering the healthcare workforce.

Dr. Nsia Asare also highlighted the substantial completion of several Agenda 111 projects, noting that two mental health facilities in Tamale and Ejisu are nearing finalization, marking significant milestones in addressing mental health needs.

He concluded by underscoring the unprecedented nature of the government’s efforts under Agenda 111, particularly in establishing primary health referral centers nationwide, deserving recognition for this substantial endeavor.
