Ga State is so Blessed for Otumfuo’s Visit- Regional Minister
The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon Titus Glover and the entire Ga State counts themselves blessed for the rare opportunity to host Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on his visit to the country’s capital.
Speaking at a durbar hosted by Ga Mantse Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II in honour of the Asantehene on June 9, 2024, he proudly associated himself with the event.
“I want to associate myself on behalf of government and the Greater Accra Coordinating Council to welcome His Highness Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. On the 25th day of July 1946, the then Asantehene King Agyemang Prempeh II was in Accra at old Polo grounds.
“It marks 78 years that today we are witnessing the visit and the Presence of His Highness King Osei Tutu II. The Ga State is so blessed. We are humbled and it’s our privilege to welcome Otumfuo to Ga.”
The Minister could not help but to publicly admire the distinguished leadership of Otumfuo in the past 25 years which has catapulted into unity, development and global recognition.
“Recently, Otumfuo celebrated his 25th anniversary. We witness in his reign an epitome of peace, a symbol of unity and also qualitative leadership in his reign as King of Asanteman. We as Gas are so proud of him for what he has exhibited to make chieftaincy so beautiful, excellent and it’s our prayer that the culture and values of the Ga Dangbe people will also be cherished.”
He urged the Ga Traditional Council to tap into the glory of Otumfuo and enhance their friendship with the Asante Kingdom as he noted that chieftaincy unlike centuries back, pertains to friendship, collaboration and the development of human resources in the areas of education, industry, trade and commerce, physical infrastructural development and digitalisation.
